My name is Jodi Vieira. The reason I have set up this blog is to share the ideas and knowledge of fitness and health that I have learned over the majority of my adult life, especially in the last 8 months. I know that others can succeed in whatever their goals are if they put their mind to it, and I believe that this blog can help in their journey. The name Georgie Girl Talks came from the memory of my late father, George. I think the jovial, fun-loving, and friendly qualities that have been passed on to me from him are what have influenced my husband to give me the nickname Georgie Girl and sometimes George.
I started working out with my personal trainer, Jorg from Three60 Fitness, on August 9, 2012. I have lost and gained weight over the years and am happy to say that I have finally lost, no, got rid of 35+ pounds. My body fat has gone down 13.8%, but aside from losing weight I have gained muscle, strength, and knowledge beyond my expectations. I have learned so much about my body and myself. We reached our original goal that we set (-30lbs) in 5 months.
Metabolic training has been very successful for me. My energy levels last throughout the day, keeping me focused on whatever I need to accomplish. I have never once not wanted to workout since we started. When I think about why I workout my answer is easy: mental clarity, inner health, tons of energy (which sometimes I don’t know what to do with), strength, and yes, I can fit into my clothes better. Why would anyone not want to do this for themselves? Everyday I wake up with a smile on my face (once I have had my first cup of coffee).
There is no magic pill (yes I wish there was). It takes dedication, hard work, sweat, and a commitment everyday to eat well and workout. I love it!!!! They say addictions are bad, but I think this is the best one anyone could have. Working out and eating right has become a way of life for me.
I have a renewed passion about nutrition and fitness; I eat to fuel my body. I am always trying new recipes that I would love to share with others and I think this blog will give me the opportunity to do that and much more. The next phase of my journey is to improve my fitness level and continue body contouring.
I would like to thank my husband for all his love and support in my fitness journey and everything else in my life. He has been there for me from the start and continues to be there as I move forward. It is so important to have someone to support you through thick and thin (no pun intended).
